Ali Fedotowsky’s Fitness Plan After Leg Injury

Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky had no choice but to stop and take things slow when she was injured from a fractured femur while kickboxing. She had to undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Right after the surgery, she began gaining weight because she was eating a lot and living an inactive lifestyle. So Ali decided to change her diet and modify her workout to fit in her current state.

What did Ali do?She began to stack her fridge with vegetables. She carried Ziploc baggies filled with celery, sugar snap peas or almonds wherever she goes. Once a week, she splurges on foods that she normally avoids. According to her, eating healthy isnt about deprivation, its all about picking your battles.

As for exercise, Ali still cant bend her leg more than 90 degrees so she finds ways to sneak fitness moves into her temporarily lounge-only lifestyle. Read the full article…

Nicaragua’s Abortion Law Becomes Issue In Presidential Election

“Nicaragua is heading for presidential elections, and among the issues dividing people in this mostly Catholic country is abortion,” with advocates marching in the streets of the capital Managua to show support for overturning a ban on therapeutic abortions that was instituted five years ago, Al Jazeera reports. “With one of the highest maternal mortality rates in Latin America, Nicaragua is one of the few countries in the world that bans therapeutic abortions,” the news agency notes (Newman, 11/2).
